Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Apprentice/Helper to join our team for the exciting remodel of a local hotel in Santa Fe. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with 3-4 years of experience in commercial electrical work who are looking to advance their careers in a dynamic and supportive environment. The project is slated to begin in mid-January 2025 and is expected to span several months, providing stable and meaningful employment within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with Electrical Installations: Support licensed electricians in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems according to project specifications and local codes.
- Commercial Electrical Support: Aid in tasks related to commercial electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, HVAC systems, and other related components.
- Blueprint and Diagram Interpretation: Assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to understand electrical system layouts and requirements.
- Material Handling: Manage and organize electrical materials and tools to ensure efficient workflow and project progression.
- Troubleshooting Assistance: Help identify and resolve electrical issues under the guidance of senior electricians to minimize project delays.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other trades and project managers to ensure seamless project execution and timely completion.
- Documentation Support: Help maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any changes to project plans.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-4 years of experience in commercial electrical work, preferably in remodeling or large-scale projects.
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and code compliance.
- Licensing: While not required, having a journeyman electrician license in the state of New Mexico is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks associated with electrical work, including lifting heavy materials and working in various environments.
- Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to assist in resolving issues efficiently.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and commitment to meeting project deadlines.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
